Simon Cowell hits back at Sir Elton John
March 10th, 2011 - 8:55 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, Mar 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Music mogul Simon Cowell has hit back at Sir Elton John for his criticism of Cowell’s talent hunt shows.
The 51-year-old reacted angrily to Elton John’s criticisms that Simon Cowell’s shows fail to bring out young talent. Cowell was on Morgan Pier’s CNN show. During the interview Piers asked Cowell about the views of Elton John.
Cowell attacked Elton John directly and sought to question what he has done for young artists. Cowell said that he would only listen to Elton John when he helps a single young talent to realize his dream.
Cowell was fuming when he said that, “This is somebody who charges what? A million dollars a private gig? Two million dollars, you know? I don’t know whether he’s concerned about himself but they always bleat on that we’re not giving other people a chance…Go and give it to a bunch of young musicians you care about, put them in the studio.”
Cowell is finalizing his latest television talent show X Factor in the United States. The show was a huge success in the United Kingdom last season and Fox is hoping that it would be that successful in the United States as well.
The show would be aired exclusively on Fox in the United States..
