Simon Cowell given royal parking privilege in Britain

London, May 05 (ANI): Music mogul Simon Cowell has been granted permission to park his Rolls Royce anywhere in Britain, a privilege that is usually given only to the Queen.

Cowell insisted that his 200,000 pounds car should be outside every theatre during auditions for ITVs Britains Got Talent, and his driver Tony constantly at the wheel.

In order to achieve his requests, the producers had to beg councils up and down the country for special permission, just so he wouldnt be mobbed by admirers.

It would seem that they are trying to go out of their way to please Cowell, as officials in Birmingham have even agreed to dig up concrete bollards to let him park on the pavement outside the Alexandra Theatre.

So enthralled are they by Cowells presence that when the show went to Hackney Empire, East London, TVs Mr Nasty was allowed to use the mayors parking spot, which has a special reservation sign on it.

Simon likes to get his own way and was adamant that Tony should be able to park the Roller right outside every theatre, The Sun quoted a show insider as saying.

He hates walking anywhere and the idea of being mobbed fills him with fear. So we contacted all the relevant councils and asked them if they could make a special dispensation.

The producers sorted it out verbally on the phone. Simon doesnt have a special sticker or anything.

It wasnt always easy as only the Queen and senior members of the Royal Family get to park wherever they like.

But I think many of the councils were grateful that Britains Got Talent was coming to their town so they helped us out.

It was only for a few days at a time, the insider added. (ANI)
