Dec.22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Things are going great for Los Angeles based band Silversun Pickups. They got the nomination for the coveted Grammy awards in best new artist category. Brian Aubert, a band member admitted that neither he nor his band mates expected a nomination for Grammy. He further said that the band does not perform or compose song keeping the awards in mind. However, it feels nice to see their efforts being appreciated by the audience and the critics. They are looking forward to a tour with Muse in North America in 2010. They have put in years of labor to reach a stable position.
The music lovers woke up to the potential of the band Silversun Pickups when they released their debut album named Carnavas. It was way back in 2006. They will compete with other brands like Keri Hilson, MGMT, Zac Brown Band and Ting Tings. Brian Aubert was sleeping when he got the news. He found lots of text messages and voicemail after waking up. It took him quite some time to understand what happened. Later he said that it was an honor for the group and he felt quite humbled personally. Lazy Eye made them popular and since then the band saw its fortunes rising. It became even more popular when the song was incorporated in a commercial for Volkswagen.
The latest album of the group named Swoon has also got good response from the fans and critics have applauded it. It also drew a fair amount of attention in Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year.
