Short film “Aakhiri Munadi - The Last announcement”

May 06, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Indian short film “Aakhiri Munadi – The Last announcement” gets chosen to be screened at the prestigious 6th Detmolde International Short Film Festival, Germany and also at the “Jersey Shore Film Festival 2010, USA. It is also participating in the Film and Video Competition in the same festival.
This movie whose running time is 15 mints was also well received in the grand “River to River Florence Indian Film Festival, Italy” in the year 2008. In the year 2009 this film was screened at “Film Federation Festival of India (Kerala), India and IFFI-09, Goa, India. Apart from this the movie was screened at Mumbai International Film Festival 2010 where it gained tremendous popularity.
The movie “Aakhiri Munadi - The Last announcement” is produced by India’s leading PR Agency’s H. S. Communication and the famous AD agency GrafAds. The movie has been directed by NSD’s graduate Ahsaan Baksh. Along with directing he’s also an actor and has also written the serials “Ambar-Dhara” and “Mata Ki Chowki” etc. H. S. Communication’s Proprietor Harish Sharma says “My Company will be producing 2 more short films and documentaries.
The story of “Aakhiri Munadi” is about a man Puran Singh who is an ordinary government servant in Municipal Corporation of Tallakhet town. His work is to give all the information of Municipal Corporation to the town people through his voice and beats of drum (nagada).
All the town people like his voice very much. Many of them think that the God lives in Puran Singh’s voice and think that he speaks the truth only. He is also very proud of his drum (nagada).
The movie’s distinctive features are the portrayal of the simple life of the people living in the Himalayas and their thoughts and lifestyle. The movie is only 15 minutes long, but it sees the best of performances by the local actors living in the Himalayas.
