October 18, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): After a long phase of pre-production work, Venkat Prabhu will finally start shooting for ‘Mankatha’. The project has been generating a lot of sensation across the town since it is Ajith Kumar’s 50th film. Venkat Prabhu, himself, has confirmed that the film  will go on the floors on October 25. The first schedule will be held in Chennai, where the scenes involving Ajith Kumar and Premji Amaran will be shot. The other schedules are being planned in cosmopolitan cities of Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Since Venkat Prabhu has plans of completing the songs before starting off with the shooting schedules, Yuvan Shankar Raja has been constantly working day and night on the album. As of now, he has completed composing a couple of tracks that include Ajith Kumar’s introduction song. For the first time, both Yuvan Shankar Raja and his father Isaignani Ilayaraja will croon a song together.

Although Ilayaraja has rendered many songs for his son Yuvan Shankar Raja’s composition (‘Macchan Un Mela’ in Silambattam and ‘Adada Vaa’ in Sarvam’), this will be a new experience for music lovers as they’ll witness the best ones coming together.

Apart from Ajith Kumar, Nagarjuna plays the other lead role and Manoj Manchu of Ennai Theriyuma fame is replaced by Vaibhav. Trisha has been signed for the female lead role and a couple of actresses is expected to be roped in for this project.
