- New York, Nov 14 (ANI/Business Wire India): ‘Shoot on Sight’ film produced by Aron Govil under the banner Cine Boutique Entertainment and directed by Jag Mundhra, will premier at the Dubai Film Festival in Dubai on December 15.
The film is a political thriller which deals with the difficult dilemma of mostly peace loving Muslims, in these turbulent times, when a cosmopolitan society, especially London, is gripped by fear of Islamic extremism, racial profiling and Islamophobia during the aftermath of underground bombings in July 2005.
‘Shoot on Sight’ is a riveting thriller that unfolds the turmoil in the life of Tariq Ali, a Muslim police officer at Scotland Yard. Commander Ali, born in Lahore, Pakistan and married to an English woman, is tasked to investigate the police shooting of a suspected Muslim terrorist in the London Underground.
Distrusted by both his superiors in the police, and his fellow Muslims, he finds his inquiry hampered from all sides. When evidence surfaces pointing to the slain man’s innocence, as well as the existence of a terrorist cell operating in his own backyard, Tariq must face the realization that sometimes, the right decision is the hardest one to make.
The film was entirely shot in London during summer of 2007.
The film star cast includes Brian Cox, Greta Scacchi, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Stephen Greif, Ralph Ineson, Sadie Frost, Gulshan Grover, Laila Rouass, Mikaal Zulfiqar and India Wadsworth.
Background score is provided by John Altman. The film is expected to release world-wide in March 2008.
In its fourth year, Dubai Film Festival is held under the Honorary Chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
The festival has positioned itself as one of the world’s premier festival which continues to the show a wide selection of high quality international films. (ANI)
