Sep 1 (IBNS) Blink 182 struggled through a weekend show, and they have finally decided to take a break to overcome the shock by pulling out of Saratoga, New York concert.

Travis Barker’s band Blink 182 cited the “circumstances surrounding the unfortunate and untimely passing of our dear friend Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein.”

DJ AM’s body was found Friday evening with a crack pipe and prescription pills in the apartment. DJ AM, whose real name was Adam Goldstein, had openly discussed past addictions to crack cocaine, Ecstasy and other drugs.

Performances by Weezer, Taking Back Sunday and Chester French were set to continue as planned along with “some special surprises,” Blink 182 said in a statement. “We thank all of our fans for their support in this tough time.”

Barker, who had been a fellow survivor with Goldstein of a plane crash last year, made it through a difficult performance on Saturday in Hartford, Conn., with a moment of silence dedicated to the celebrity DJ.

Over the weekend, Barker posted a message on Twitter about the passing of his pal. “I’ll never forget everything we’ve been thru and every time i play the drums i’ll think of you,” he wrote. “My brother is gone. i love u and miss u, i’ll never forget all the good times we had.”
