October 26, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Shobhaa De, the enigmatic and charming novelist, who has always managed to sweep book lovers off their feet with each of her novels, was looking amazingly beautiful, recently in Mumbai, walking the ramp for friend Ritu Beri, fashion icon of India.

It was at the ongoing WILF or the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week, that Ritu Beri, had got her retro look styles out of the closet and all that was kept as a treasured collection over the years, was showcased at the event. Reports are that Ritu Beri had planned for the retro look, and therefore, the color scheme for the show was black and white, thus the two fashionable ladies were seen in these two colors.

Walking the coveted ramp for the designer was Shobhaa De, who was seen in a black and white sari and even at 60 plus has a great penchant for looking her best, exudes definite style and grace, and can be surely called the ultimate woman of contemporary India.

Ritu Beri, who is a great friend of the renowned writer said that Shobhaa De is ‘Timeless, Ageless and intelligent’ and was more than pleased to have her most treasured collection being presented by Shobhaa De and was seen smiling happily with a satisfied expression on her face, looking every bit of a style diva herself, in a perfectly fitted LBD.

The show was a great success, and with Shobhaa De giving out a few copies of her latest novel ‘Shobhaa at sixty’, it was indeed a great  feeling at the WILF,where the who’s who of the fashion world had gathered to get the feel of retro fashion at its best!

Well, just to add, there are these fashion garments from the designer world, which never go out of fashion, and can be worn with utmost confidence even years after buying, wearing, and storing it! Especially if its Black and White- it’s simply timeless, ageless and graceful, just like the two ladies Ritu Beri and Shobhaa De, who made it all happen.
