New Delhi, May 18 (IANS) After trying his hand in Hindi cinema with not-so-known films like “Patth” and “Game”, director Shivram Yadav has forayed into the Bhojpuri movie industry with action-thriller “Rangbaaz”.

“Rangbaaz” is about Krishna Yadav, a rough and tough guy who lives life on his own terms and conditions, but at the same time he has a soft corner for the poor and needy. The film stars Haider Kazmi and Rani Chatterjee.

“Despite being an action-thriller, the film is a complete family entertainer,” said Yadav who previously worked with Haider in his Hindi directorial debut “Patth”, which also starred Sharad Kapoor, Payal Rohtagi and Shama Sikandar.

“The script of ‘Rangbaaz’ has been written keeping Haider in mind. The reason behind choosing him as lead was that he is a theatre artist and he completely fits into the character of Krishna Yadav. He was the only one who could do full justice to the character,” he said.

Yadav has a reason to be excited about his debut Bhojpuri movie.

“I have been in the film industry for a long time and I know many people from the Bhojpuri industry. So when production company ASC Digital decided to make a film, I approached them with my script, they liked the subject and gave it a green signal. I am very happy to make this film as Bhojpuri is my mother tongue,” he said.

He has worked as assistant director in films like “Sone Ki Zanjeer”, “Khudaai”, “Premyog”, “Anmol” and “Dastur”. After “Patth” (2003) he directed “Game” in 2007, but the film failed to impress the audiences.

Now the director aims to make cinema that not only entertains, but also conveys a message.

“I believe that a film should be a mix of realism and entertainment. My aim is to make films that not only provide healthy entertainment but also convey a message to the audience,” he said.
