Shekhar Kammula’s ‘Life Is Beautiful’ pushed to Sep 14 (Southern Movie Snippets)

Chennai, Sep 3 (IANS) This is the second time the release date of director Shekhar Kammula’s “Life Is Beautiful” has been postponed. The Telugu film, initially slated to release Aug 31, was first re-scheduled for Sep 13, but now it has been further pushed by one more day and will hit the screens Sep 14.

Kammula wrapped the shooting, which started in June 2011, in May this year and right now last minute post-production work is in progress.

Set in a residential colony, “Life Is Beautiful” narrates the story of six youngsters who share happiness and joy as they strengthen their friendship. To shoot the film, a colony was exclusively erected for the shoot at a cost of Rs.1 crore.

According to reports, Maa TV has bought the TV rights of the film for a whopping Rs.3.5 crore.

Kammula is introducing new faces - Abhijeet Duddala, Sudhakar Komakul, Kaushik, Shagun Kaur, Zara Shah, Rashmi Shastry, Kavya, Naveen, Vijay Devarakonda, Sanjeev and Sriram - who will be playing the lead roles in the film.

Micky J. Meyer has composed the music, while Vijay Kumar C has done cinematography.


‘Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu’ audio launch postponed

After launching Tamil film “Neethaane En Ponvasantham” music, Gautham Menon and Illayaraja were to launch the audio of the Telugu version of the film titled “Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu”. But due to logistical reasons, the launch has been postponed.

The launch of “Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu” was scheduled for Sep 2 in Hyderabad and Illayaraja was to perform at the event with the Hungarian orchestra but now fans will have to wait a little longer.

Menon has directed both versions of the film while Jiiva and Nani will be playing the lead in the Tamil and Telugu versions, respectively, along with Samantha. Music maestro Illayaraja has composed the music.

The music of “Neethaane En Ponvasantham” was launched Saturday.


Thaman super busy, six films in hand

Guess who is busy like a bee these days? Composer S.S Thaman, who took the industry by storm in the last few years, has got his hands full with five Telugu films and a Tamil project.

He is currently working on Junior NTR’s “Baadshah”, Ram Charan’s “Naayak” and Victory Venkatesh’s “Shadow”, which are slated for release in January next year. So that means December will be dominated by Thaman’s tunes and compositions.

The other three films include Nagarjuna’s “Love Story” and Siddharth-Nandini Reddy’s untitled project and “Settai”, a Tamil remake of Bollywood film “Delhi Belly”.
