‘She Monkeys’, ‘Bombay Beach’ win Tribeca top honours
April 30th, 2011 - 1:59 pm ICT by IANSLondon, April 30 (IANS) Swedish films “She Monkeys” and “Bombay Beach” took home top honours at the Tribeca Film Festival for best narrative feature and best documentary, respectively.
The judges announced the winners of the two categories Thursday so that moviegoers could catch the films before the festival closes Sunday.
Contactmusic.com reports that Carice Van Houten was named as the best actress for “Black Butterflies” and Ramadhan “Shami” Bizimana was named the best actor for “Grey Matter”.
South Korean Park Jungbum was named best new narrative director for “The Journals of Musan”, while Venezuelan filmmaker Pablo Croce was named for the best new documentary director award for “Like Water”.
The festival started April 20.
