Shawn Hornbeck recalls “kidnapped” days on CBS

Kidnapped Shawn Hornbecks Incredible Story The segment, named “Kidnapped: Shawn Hornbeck’s Incredible Story” was aired yesterday at 10p.m - 11 p.m ET/PT on the CBS Television Network. The episode was produced by Katherine Davis, Mead Stone, Clare Friedland and Chris O’Connell. The executive producer of the Hornbeck segment was Susan Zirinsky, Al Briganti was the executive editor and Anthoby Baston, the senior broadcast producer.

Shawn was kidnapped at the age of 11 way back in October 2002,. The name of his abductor is Michael Devlin who was also charged with the kidnapping of Ben Ownby. For 4 and a half years, Shawn feared for his life every single day as he had to bear a lot of pressure and torture at the hands of his tormentor. Devlin had induced the terrible fear in Shawn of harming his family as well as him. It was for the fear of bringing harm to his family that Shawn mostly kept quiet.

Shawn Hornbeck was knocked down from his bike and carried away by Devlin. All throughout his captivity, Devlin possessed a gun and Devlin made Shawn pose as his son and pretend to others. It was not until in 2007, that the FBI finally tracked him down and discovered his true identity. Shawn recalls, that even when he had seen the FBI at Devlin’s doorstep, he was apprehensive about what the outcome of the incident is going to be.
