Shaun Cassidy’s Latest Venture Interests Many

The Cassidy brothers, Dave, Patrick and Shaun will be live on “GMA” Monday, in order to give the viewers a preview of their new show. David Cassidy of “Patridge Family” fame and his brother Patrick Cassidy will star in the ABC Family new comedy series called “Ruby and the Rockits”. Shaun Cassidy, who has developed the show comprising of his real life brothers, is also the executive producer of the show.
Shaun Cassidy is an American actor, singer, producer and writer. He is the eldest son of the Academy Award winning actress, Shirley Jones. Shaun, while he was still in school, landed up with a recording contract with the Warner Brothers, and began making records. A series of “singles” were released by Shaun in several European countries but it was his American debut album in 1997 that the singer was shot to fame of glory. The album went on to become the biggest selling solo album during that era.
The album awarded Shaun with a Grammy nomination and a number one single “Da Doo Ron Ron”. The two singles that followed up after the success of the former one, namely “That’s Rock n Roll” and “Hey Deanie”, both written by Eric Carmen, were also top ten hits. Soon after Shaun was seen to be seemingly interested with acting, as his acting prowess was showcased on the “Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries”.
Shaun mostly spent the 80’s and 90’s in theaters.
Shaun’s newest venture “Ruby Ant The Rockits” revolves around David and Patrick, who were a part of the band “Rockits”, was at the top of the charts till they broke up. Twenty years later Patrick is settled in suburbia with his wife and two teenage sons, while his brother is still on the road.
