The Elisabeth Shue staring comedy “Adventures in Babysitting” will be aired on TV on June 7, at noon on “E!”. The repeats, in case of a missed show, will occur on June 10, Wednesday at 1 p.m, June 11, Thursday at 9 a.m and Saturday, June 13, at 7 a.m and 6 p.m. The movie has a viewership rating of PG-13 (Not recommended for preteens).
The 1987 movie is a very popular click starring Elisabeth Shue, Bradley Whitford, Maia Brewton, Anthony Rapp, Penelope Ann Miller and Keith Coogan. The movie was written by David Simkins and was directed by Chris Columbus. It was released by Disney and in United Kingdom the release took place under the title, “A Night on the Town”.
The story kicks off when Chris Parker (Elisabeth Shue) takes up the job of babysitting 8 year old Sara Anderson (Maia Brewton) when her boyfriend Mike Toddwell (Bradley Whitford) cancels their anniversary date. Brad Anderson, Sara’s 15 year old brother who has a crush on Chris decides to stay back to be able to hang around Chris.
All hell breaks loose when Chris gets a call from her friend Brenda (Penelope Ann Miller), who had encountered failure while attempting to runaway from her family and was stuck in a Chicago bus station. Chris is forced to head out to the city to rescue her friend, taking along her charges of the brother-sister as well as Brad’s sex obsessed friend Daryl Coopersmith (Anthony Rapp).
What follows is a series of hilarious mishaps and funny disasters which take the hassled group for a wild goose chase all over the place and leaves the audience in splits.
