Shania Twain’s stalker taken into custody

London, March 30 (IANS) Singer Shania Twain’s alleged stalker has been jailed and ordered to stay away from her, after breaching a court order given for trying to approach her at the Juno Awards in Canada.

“One of her people had spotted him. He said he just wanted to meet her,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted detective Michael Jander as saying.

Stalker Giovanni Palumbo, 50, appeared in court in Toronto Monday where he was ordered to “stay away” from Twain.

Police arrested Palumbo from the venue of Juno Awards at the Air Canada Centre, where the 45-year-old singer was receiving a place in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

Palumbo will now stay in jail until at least Friday , when his bail hearing for alleged breaches of previous court orders will be heard.
