Shania Twain says that she is losing her voice
May 13th, 2011 - 11:30 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, May 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Shania Twain has told E! Online that years of manipulating her voice has destroyed her vocal cords. She is currently receiving therapy to get her speech back. She also hopes that she can restore her singing voice after the therapy.
The 45-year-old explained that she lost her voice after her bitter divorce. She said that, “During the course of my divorce, I dug a big hole and stopped growing and searching and had given up… I had reached a point in my life where there was a bottleneck, physically, in my throat. Something had to give.”
Shania had a nasty breakup when she realized that her ex-husband, Robert “Mutt” Lange, was having an affair with her best friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud. After the divorce, Shania says she was devastated and has decided to seek treatment to rebuild her life. During an appearance on Oprah Winfrey Show shortly after the divorce, the singer said though she didn’t think about suicide, she felt that she has had enough with life and didn’t want to “live.”
She explained that getting a therapy might in the long run save her career. He described the experience as learning to ‘breath again.’
Shania seems to be moving on after the divorce because she has married again - to Frederic Thiebaud, the former husband of Marie-Anne.
