Shakti Kapoor remembers Feroz Khan for the big launch

The late maverick film maker Feroz Khan needs to be credited for giving Shakti Kapoor his proper big launch in a big set up film. We bumped into Shakti Kapoor who expressed his condolences for the actor-filmmaker who passed away few days back and revealed an interesting anecdote about what lead Feroz Khan to cast him in Qurbani (1980).
Shakti stated, “I met Feroz Khan literally with a bang for the first time. I had bought a second hand car and I crashed against his car. He got out and fired me. Later when he was making Qurbani I met the writer of his film who was looking out for an actor to play the villain in his film. I requested him to introduce me to Feroz Khan. The writer told me that Feroz Khan was looking for a young boy who had crashed against his car. I realized it was me and I went to meet him. He gave me a big role in Qurbani it was like a launch pad. He was a very stylish man and he received me with a lot of warmth. We became good friends later. I shall miss him now. He was very buoyant and spirited man full of life.”
Feroz Khan yet again cast Shakti Kapoor in the villain’s role in his in Janbaaz (1986) which was his next film after Qurbaani. -Sampurn Media
