London, Nov 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Colombian pop star Shakira is on a self-discovery journey. She says that as she is blowing out more candles in her birthday cake, she is discovering new things about her life and becoming highly comfortable and at home with herself and her desires.

“Every day I discover something new. Go through phases in which I feel much more in touch with my feminine side, in ways I never thought possible. I am letting the woman inside of me speak, the desires of this woman speak as loud as they can,” femalefist.co.uk quoted 35-year-old as saying.

Shakira also said that sexual desire is more important than religion, as it is a basic human instinct. She feels that people should give in to their natural urges more and not be so bottled up on this touchy topic,

She said: “I do think libido is the engine of the world. Forward or backwards. For good or ill. Sometimes when we repress our libido we regress. When we were in the Dark Ages, it was a question of humanity somehow managing to forget about itself. We put God in the centre of society, and people forgot about their own nature and desires. There was a huge deal of repression.”

She also talked about how increasing the society is throwing away the shackles and literally opening up and has became more accepting now than ever before.
