London, Sep 30 (IANS) Colombian singer Shakira has denied that she will stage a performance for Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov’s 35th birthday.
A spokesman for the politician had recently announced that Kadyrov would be celebrating his birthday next month with a glitzy party, including performances by Shakira and violinist Vanessa Mae.
But the “Hips Don’t Lie” hitmaker has quashed the news through her Twitter account, reports dailystar.co.uk.
“Contrary to any misreporting, Shakira is not performing nor was she ever booked to perform a gig for the Chechen President or Government,” tweeted a representative on behalf of Shakira.
