London, May 19 (IANS) A representative of Shakira says that the Columbian singer has nothing to do with the autographed guitar allegedly gifted to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
The controversial leader had publicly thanked Shakira last weekend after he was presented with the red electric guitar, which was said to be sent by her.
However, the singer’s publicist admits that the guitar was one of six gig organisers had asked her to sign during her concert in Caracas in March. The promoters had one guitar delivered to Chavez, reports express.co.uk.
However, the singer’s representative hopes “acts like this contribute to continue uniting the citizens” of Colombia and Venezuela.
