Frankfurt, June 7 (DPA) The departure of Germany’s national team to the World Cup in South Africa was delayed Sunday night when their plane had to wait for a prominent passenger: pop star Shakira.
The Colombian singer’s connecting flight out of Madrid to Frankfurt was delayed and organisers were reluctant to leave without the performer for this year’s World Cup anthem, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), reported airport operator Fraport.
