Shakira attacked by sea lion
February 14th, 2012 - 9:48 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattCape Town, Feb 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Singer Shakira has revealed that she suffered an attack in South Africa recently when she tried to take a snap of a sea lion. The She Wolf singer was in the South African city of Cape Town recently and that was when the incident happened.
The 36-year-old singer, who is currently going out with Barcelona star Gerard Pique, revealed her ordeal on a blog. She explained that the animal jumped from the water and attacked her, apparently mistaking the phone to be a fish. She shared a picture of the injury she suffered on her finger.
She wrote that, “This afternoon I happened to see some sea lions and seals. I thought how cute they were so decided to get closer than all of the other tourists and went down to a rock. Suddenly, one jumped out of the water so fast that it got about one foot away from me, looked me in the eye, roared in fury and tried to bite me.”
Fortunately, the animal failed to inflict any dangerous injuries on the Columbian singer. She later posted pictures of herself and a group of penguins.
Shakira was in South Africa in 2010 where she gave the headline performance for the World Cup. She currently live in Spain with boyfriend Pique.
