Bengali actor Shaheb Chattopadhyay, who started his career in the small screen, is making his comeback to television with a music based reality show even though his kitty is filled up with three films.
The actor said that he left television because the medium required him to give bulk dates and it was not possible for him. However, this reality show titled ‘Sa Theke Sa Junior’ required him to give only three months and then he will be free, so he chose to accept it. Moreover, it’s a show with little kids, so can’t say no to it. Shaheb says that another reason of accepting the offer is the show dealt with music and he started his career on a song, which is also his passion. He says that if it were a game show, he would not have taken up.
Shaheb has already completed shooting for 20 episodes and needs to do six more in the first lot. The actor is looking forward to three releases, Teen Tanaya, Brishtir Chayachhobi and Kalidas O Chemistry. He will be seen opposite Rupanjana in Teen Tanaya, for which he has recorded two songs. Rituparna Sengupta is paired opposite him in Dulal Lahiri directed Brishtir Chayachhobi and Sreelekha will acting with him in Kalidas O Chemistry. This is a Bengali remake of Dharmendra and Hema Malini starrer Hindi movie Dillagi. Shaheb plays the Sanskrit professor here.
He is also looking forward to some other films like Cottage, Tumi Jodi Amar Hote, Megh Brishtir Khela, Ekti Nodir Golpo and Sudhu Tomakey Chai. He has also bagged some new projects like Bhalobashar Cross Connection, Somporko and Tathagata Bhattacherjee’s Seven Days.
It seems the year 2011 is going to be a hectic one for the actor both in small and big screen.
