screenshot1 Sep 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) This is sure a bad bit of news for all the Katy Perry fans. The production team of Sesame Street has decided to bar the telecast of the episode starring singer Katy Perry, as they found it too risqué.

According to reports, Katy Perry had recorded a special version of the song ‘Hot N Cold’ and also made a video for it, with Elmo. The video was posted on YouTube, and there it was blasted in the comments section, as people felt that Katy was showing too much of cleavage, which was wholly not appropriate for the Sesame Street audience. So after the thrashing in the comments section, the production team decided against airing that episode.

Later Sesame Street also released a statement, which said that they have a long history of collaborating with celebrities from all walks of life and they have made ample parodies in the past. However since the program is also viewed by children, so they took the decision to trash the Katy Perry episode.

The statement said that, “We use parodies and celebrity segments to interest adults in the show because we know that a child learns best when co-viewing with a parent or care-giver. We also value our viewer’s opinions and particularly those of parents. In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on You Tube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at preschoolers.”
