Nov. 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The television show “Sesame Street” made it’s debut forty years back, on Nov. 10. It will be celebrating it’s birthday with a special guest on the same day this year. The Big Bird will be bringing the First Lady Michelle Obama to kick off the celebrations of it’s fortieth birthday. The show is going to get a makeover, adding quite a lot of new segments. However, it still maintains the importance it has always attached to formal education.

Along with all the features on the show that have held the kids captive throughout the four decades since it’s arrival, the show is going to introduce a whole lot of new segments too. A new curriculum based on nature is to go on air. The new season is going to get started with a show called “My World Is Green And Growing”. The show is part of a science initiative that has a total span of two years. The show aims at increasing the children’s awareness and interest about nature and to help them grow a positive attitude towards nature.

The new season starts with Michelle Obama as the special guest. For her stint with television, she appears as part of the “Healthy Habits For Life’ show. She comes up to educate the residents of “Sesame Street” about the importance of afforestation and the necessity of maintaining healthy food habits and a healthy lifestyle. She will be instructing the children on the planting of lettuce, cucumber and tomato seeds. As part of it’s 40th anniversary celebration, the show is about to release two books entitled “Sesame Street: A Celebration Of Forty Years Of Life On The Street” and “The Complete History Of Sesame Street.”
