There is hardly anyone who does not know anything about the movie “The Goonies”. One of the most popular children’s movie of all time, “The Goonies“, directed by Richard Donner, has always remained in talks of coming back on the screens as a movie sequel. Obviously this is something that has been desired by the ardent lovers of “The Goonies” always.

Only recently it had been heard that a possible “Goonies” sequel was a dead idea and it was never going to take place. This had been a hard blow to those fans who have waited for a long time, ever since the movie was released in 1985, to see another of the movie.

The most recent updates on this front however seems to be of a little positive note. Earlier this month, when L.A Times had interviewed Corey Feldman, one of the lead actors in the first movie, he left some subtle hints (though not stating anything very clearly) about the fate of a future “Goonies” movie possibility. For the first time it seems that a sequel is not “entirely out of the picture.”

Earlier this year, the entire team of the former child cast of the movie had posed for the April issue of the British magazine “Empire”, which had been guest edited by Steven Spielberg. Feldman, Josh Brolin, Martha Plimpton, Ke Huy Quan and Jeff Cohen had all come together after a very long time to pose for the photo shoot.

So, rejoice all “Goonies” lovers, with the possibility of a sequel, till the news confirming or rejecting the idea makes it way back in to the market. Until that time we can all be drawn in to hoping for the best.
