Nov. 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Oprah Winfrey had on her show an unusual guest on Nov. 10. Steering clear of the usual celebrity guest list, she chose to invite on the “Oprah Winfrey Show” [for an intimate tte-a-tte] the notorious convicted killer and death row inmate Matthew Eric Wrinkles.

Wrinkles apologized on national television to all the families of his victims whom he had brutally murdered. Wrinkles has been sentenced to death for murdering his brother-in-law, his wife and Wrinkle’s own wife too, who had obtained a divorce from him before she was murdered. It had been decided that Wrinkles would be put to death by the administration of the lethal injection. The show aired at 9 in the morning on the WLS-Channel 7.

Wrinkles had filed for divorce from his wife Debbie Wrinkles in 1994. At that time, Debbie had obtained an order of protection from the court that prevented Eric from having any contact with their children. She was staying with her brother, Mark Fulkerson and his wife Natalie Fulkerson. On July 20, they attended a divorce hearing following which they agreed to meet somewhere on the condition that Debbie would bring her children along with her. Debbie never turned up for the meeting. Although Eric made numerous attempts to contact her throughout the day, he failed and could not fix another appointment.

The next day, Eric went over to the Fulkerson residence wearing face paint and killed his wife, her brother and Natalie in the presence of Matt, Natalie’s three year old son. He ran away but was arrested the next day. The jury came to an unanimous decision and awarded him the death penalty.
