Sep 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) For all those who were eagerly anticipating the seventh season of the investigation drama, CSI NY, now have a number of new things to look forward to in the season. With the walking out of Melina Kanakaredes right before the start of the season, it looked like there was some serious damage control needed from the show’s producers. The pilot on Friday, however, put top rest a number of speculations with Sela Ward joining as the new face of the show. The show has also been shifted to the Friday night time slot.
Sela Ward has revealed that she was excited to take up the role. She explained that the deal happened when she was taking a break from work for her family. She also added that she was happy about the fact that it was an ensemble cast and there was little pressure on her alone. The executive producer of the show said that all preparations were doe to begin the shooting of the season before the fallout with Melina Kanakaredes happened. Most critics and bloggers have, however, given favorable reviews to the fresh cast and the new season premiere. Some feel, however, that time will reveal whether Sela Ward is suitable for the role or not.
Sela Ward plays the role of Jo Danville who comes to New York to work under Mac Taylor, played by Gary Sinise, in a crime lab. The show creators said that the character of Jo Danville is slightly more messy to start off with as she is shown to be gradually adjusting with the New York lifestyle. They have also said that the chemistry between the characters of Gary Sinise and Sela Ward will also be intriguing to watch as it develops through the season.
