Secretariat Horse releases this weekend
October 10th, 2010 - 8:29 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattThis weekend, cinemas across America and Canada will show the movie ‘Secretariat Horse’ to the viewers. All the horse enthusiasts are mighty excited about the movie. The movie will portray the amazing accomplishments of what horse race enthusiasts in the world consider the greatest horse race ever.
The movie is set to bring back to life the 1973 Triple Crown horse in the United States.
Diane Lane played the horse’s owner, Penny Chenery in the movie. John Malkovich played the horse’s wacky trainer.
The movie highlights the struggles the horse went through. The horse started out as “Big Red” on the farm of the Chenery Family before it achieved great fame for itself with three national titles in a year. The horse won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes in 1973 in what eventually became known as the Triple Crown.
It was the horse’s owner, Penny Chenery who sensed that the horse had something special when the animal was at the farm. The film provides some amazing inspiration and it is expected to premiere very well. However it remains to be seen how it fares at the box office and whether it gallops towards success or not.
