Second ‘Elizabeth’ could bring Blanchett another Oscar

The ravishing star, who won an Oscar for best supporting actress for the 2005 film ‘The Aviator’, is expected to win the best actress award for her role as the royal.

The sequel to the 1998 ‘Elizabeth’ brought together, Kapur, Blanchett, Geoffrey Rush and screenwriter Michael Hirst.

However, as Kapur reveals, Blanchett took a long time to take up the role in the second flick, the acript of wehich was written over period of three years.

“A long time in development. And it’s taken us a long time to convince Cate to do it. And then once the screenplay was ready and everybody read it, everybody signed on to do it. But it took a long time to do,” The Hollywood reporter quoted Kapur, as saying. (ANI)
