penn Los Angeles, May 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sean Penn has pleaded no contest to the vandalism charge. The plea is part of a deal with the LA city officials to bring an assault charge against him, to a closure.

As part of the plea deal actor Sean Penn would need to undergo 36 hours of anger management crisis. Under the deal, Penn would also undergo 36 months probation, and do a total of 300 hours community service. The community service would include service for the earthquake devastated Haiti, and after the completion of service, his charge of vandalism would be changed to disturbing public peace. Penn also has to stay at least 100 yards away from the paparazzi, whom he had allegedly assaulted.

Penn was arrested last year, and was charged with vandalism after he was videotaped kicking paparazzi. The paparazzo, Jordan Dawes was assaulted in October by the “Mystic River” star. Dawes has also filed a civil suit against Penn.

Penn, who is an Oscar Winning actor, was previously charged with the more serious offense of battery and misdemeanor, which would have carried a bigger sentence, and so now after the plea deal, his lawyers believe that they have cut a good deal for him.
