Sean Connery being investigated for tax fraud

Bahamas, July 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) There are reports that the James Bond star – Sean Connery is being investigated for tax fraud. And he is not directly linked to the tax fraud, but rather one of the property firms, which is linked to the star, didn’t pay up $2.3 million in taxes.

The property firm sold the developmental rights of a property in Malaga and didn’t pay the due amount of taxes to the government.

And this is not the end of troubles for the James Bond star. Apart from this, he was also named in a separate case involving money laundering. He had sold off a luxury seaside villa, which was located near Malaga for around $9 million. The villa was then razed to the ground and instead on the land, a four-storey luxury apartment complex comprising of 72 flats was developed. This was in clear violation of the rules, which stipulate that only five houses could be constructed in that space.

Apart from this, the police also conducted raids on the law firm, which had handled the sale. The operation was known as ‘Goldfinger’. It ought to be mentioned that Goldfinger is a James Bond film, in which Sean had played the lead.
