Scoundrels, ABC’s New Summer Show Premieres

scoundrelsJune 21, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Scoundrels”, the intriguing comedy drama series was aired on ABC Network last night June 20, at 9 p.m ET. The one hour long episode had fun, mystery and comedy which kept the viewers glued to the screen. This show is based on a New Zealand TV series “Outrageous Fortune”. “Scoundrels” is created by James Griffin and Rachel Lang and written by Lyn Greece an Richard Levine.

The plot revolves round a middle aged woman Cheryl West with four children whose criminal husband Wolf gets a sentence of five years long prison. The series is about how she decides and tries to make her family go straight by nurturing it with all her love and morals.

Virginia Madsen plays the role of tough mother Cheryl West and David James Elliott plays Wolf. Patrick Flueger plays the role of male twins Logan West, a young lawyer and Cal West who is a dumb criminal, Leven Rambin looks beautiful in Heather West’s character and Vanessa Marano as dumb blond Hope West adjusts well with her character.

“Scoundrels” sitcom gathered a mixed reaction from its viewers. Some just dismissed it as caricature and some liked the comedy and dark drama inside. “Scoundrels” got into its share of controversies and debates for its star cast when David James Elliott replaced Neal McDonough. The story about how the children use their con talents to achieve their desired goal in spite of their different characters and personalities, yet they have one thing in common in all of them, they are all “Scoundrels”.

The actress Leven Rambin said in an interview that her new series is a comedy but dark at the same time.
