“Scott Pilgrim” Trailer Released

scoyyMar 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comic book hero gets his silver screen label. Starring Michael Cera, “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” by Universal Picture has released the official trailer for this much anticipated movie. The movie happens to be a directorial gig from Edgar Wright who has previously directed comedy action movies like “Hot Fuzz” and “Shaun of the Dead”. The storyline depicts garage band Sex Bob-omb’s 23 year old bass guitarist, Scott Pilgrim who seems to have found his soul mate. But as every love story treads the path of thorns, Scott Pilgrim shall also have to confront seven ex-boyfriends of Ramona Flowers (played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead) who stands in his way.

Michael Cera leads the cast in the movie in the title role alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anna Kendrick, Brandon Routh, Chris Evans, Jason Schwartzman and Mae Whitman, among others. It is being said that Universal Studios hired director Edgar Wright to direct the movie that takes its elements of inspiration from the graphic novel “Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life”. They had settled upon Michael Cera who has already shown his brilliance in comedy acting with his movies like “Juno” and “Superbad” for which he even had two Canadian Comedy Awards Nominations in The Best Actor category. A major part of the movie has been filmed in Canada including Toronto in places like Lee’s Palace, Honest Ed’s and Sneaky Dee’s.

Reportedly, Canadian indie rock band “Metric” is setting the tunes for the movie. The Facebook profile of the band is already streaming with the unreleased song “Black Sheep”. The movie is slotted to hit the US theaters later in the month of August.
