scoobyHe still has the charm in oodles of bumbling mishaps to restrain this present generation of the brat pack and draw them to the television screen like the bee to flowers. Turning 40 years old this year, hasn’t deterred him any bit, as the most loved Great Dane of the animated toons visits the television screens once more with the help of a film. Scoody-Doo and his Mystery Inc. gang hit the screen this weekend.

The third live action flick emerging from director Briant Levant’s stable, who is known for such big family oriented films as “Beethoven,” “Are We there Yet?” and “Snow Dogs”, is certainly touted to be one point above its predecessors. It’s been third time lucky for Brian. From the looks of it, a younger cast (albeit much cheaper too) seemed to have fit the bill for the movie perfectly. The television release date for the movie had been set for September 13, 2009.

This will be the first time that the a movie of the series will shed some light on the origin of the Mystery Inc. gang’s formation. In the original movie, “Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins,” it will be related in details of how Velma, Fred, Daphne, Shaggy and Scoody-Doo come together to strike down the evil doers of the society. According to sources, it is being touted that the story about the origin of the gang is pretty convincing too.

The movie will deal with the gang’s first instance of mystery solving together. When all the principal characters of the popular series are framed and accused of vandalizing their high school, they join force to get down to cracking the truth behind the Coolsville High School haunting.
