Science fiction movie “Another Earth” all set to release
July 22nd, 2011 - 11:44 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, July 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The science fiction movie Another Earth is set to hit the giant screens this weekend. The movie was first shown at the 27th Sundance Film Festival in January. The movie has since received fair reviews from movie reviewers.
It is the debut film for Mike Cahil as a director. Cahil is also the screen writer along with Brit Marling. The main character of the movie is Marling who plays the role of Rhoda Williams. In the movie, Rhoda was driving when she saw a different planet. She tried to get a closer look at the planet but ended up striking a minivan. A family that was traveling in the minivan was killed in the accident and Rhoda was sent to jail for four years.
When she was released, she decided to locate the widower of the family. In her search, she learnt more about the other planet and realized that the planet is exactly like planet earth. She learnt that the two planets were mirror copies of each other containing the same things.
FOX Searchlight Pictures has the distribution rights to the movie and it will be released in North America on the 22nd of July. The movie will be released in other parts of the world at a later date.
