‘Savitri’ award to be presented to Jamuna

May 06, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): An award, named after Mahanati Savitri, would be presented to actress of yesteryears Jamuna very soon, says senior director Dr Dasari Narayana Rao. Rs 2 lakh cash award would be presented along with a citation on the occasion. Dr Dasari had celebrated his 65th birthday in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Several prominent film personalities including Balakrishna, Mohanbabu, K Raghavendra Rao, Muralimohan and others met Dasari and wished him a long life. Later speaking to the media, Dr Dasari says, “I am planning to set up Dasari Film Institute to train upcoming artistes and technicians. Every year, several fans are celebrating my birthday as a festival and they are doing so for the past 35 years, despite my victory and downfall. I am so fortunate to bag the love of so many people. I bow my head and salute them in this regard.’
