May 14, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Babul Supriyo needs no introduction. The singer who started his Bollywood career with Zindagi Chaar Din Ki back in 1994 has now come a long way. He now has quite a few hit albums and popular Bollywood numbers to boast about. He shot to fame with for his playback singing in “Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’.
The singer known for his peculiar Indipop style, has also sung in many Bengali songs. Ek Poshla Brishti and Kolkata are some of his famous Bengali songs. Recently, he has lent his voice for songs in the new Bengali movie “Cricketer’.
The music launch of “Cricketer’ took place yesterday in Kolkata. Former international Indian cricket team captain, Saurav Ganguly launched the music of the movie. Ganguly went out of his way to help Babul Supriyo with this launch.
It was most befitting to have a great cricketer like Ganguly to launch the music of a movie based on the life of a cricketer. The Prince of Kolkata, who is also called the Tiger of Bengal has always been looked up to by the people of Kolkata. Surely, his presence had a great impact on everyone present at the event.
The event was a huge success, with Saurav Ganguly’s presence adding to the charm of the evening. Now that “Cricketer’s’ amazing music is out, let’s hope that the movie also turns out to be just as good.
