April 19, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, in a recent episode of Saturday Night Live, were made fun of by the Saturday Night Live actors, in a parody about celebrities. These two actors were spoofed about their appearances. The two constitute a famous and a much-loved couple of the hugely liked ‘Twilight’.

Guest host and former ‘Cruel Intentions’ star, Ryan Phillippe, enacted the ‘Twilight’ heartthrob, Robert Pattinson, in one of the parodies, and depicted him as a stupid teen. The parody was viewed by an enormous number of fanatics of Twilight.

Apart from enacting the vampirical Robert Pattinson during his hosting performance, Ryan also got to depict a member of an underground rock-rap crew, a heartbroken lover, and a 1980s teenager.

Besides Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, other actors such as Susan Boyle, Mel Gibson, Kate Gosselin, and Tyler Perry were also spoofed.

Saturday Night Live was created by Lorne Michaels and Dick Ebersol. It was first premiered on NBC in October 1975 under the title NBC’s Saturday Night. It often drafts parodies of modern-day American popular culture and politics. It is one of the longest-running network television programs in the United States with almost 700 episodes telecast over the span of 35 seasons as of 2010.
