Sep 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Saturday Night Live”,which often parodies the contemporary culture of the United States not only saw the jokes hurled at Governor David Paterson but also the show opened with a parody of tea-party favorite Christine O’Donnell’s anti masturbation campaign. The Republican nominee of Delaware has come to limelight after her controversial “witchcraft” video clip was aired on HBO last week on “Real Time With Bill Maher”. Last night was the season 36 premiere of “Saturday Night Live” and “California Gurls” singer Katy Perry appeared on the show and even Governor David Paterson appeared surprisingly many viewers.

However, the “Saturday Night Live” season 36 premiere opened with the parody of Christine O’Donnell and the role of the Republican nominee was played by Kristen Wiig. The gig featured Kristen Wiig discussing the “witchcraft” controversy and making her points clear. There were some moments which tickled the funny bones of the audience as well. Kristen Wiig who played the role of Christine O’Donnell said that she started her anti-masturbation campaign when she did not even know the meaning of masturbation! The actress impersonating Christine O’Donnell went on to state that presently she masturbates many times a day.

The gig also showed the actress impersonating Christine O’Donnell say that she is no longer against masturbation. However, later she also revealed that she ran a dog fighting operation and in the process burned down someone else’s house before putting her witch hat and flying away on a broom. The audience immediately understood that the whole section is a parody of previous video clip which plagued the web. In that video clip, Christine O’Donnell admitted that she dabbled into witchcraft when she was in high-school and dated a “witch”. In the controversial video clip, it was also shown that Christine O’Donnell had her first date on a “satanic altar”.
