Sarah Ferguson It is not usual to see teenage daughters dress the same way as their mother but the Royals think differently. Sarah Ferguson appeared on Roberto Cavalli’s post-show party at the Milan Fashion Week with her daughters wearing black. The three seemed to wear clothes from the same wardrobe of black dresses with low necklines.

The 49-year old Duchess of York wore a low-cut spaghetti strap dress with a puffed skirt while Princess Eugenie, 18, wore a T-shirt dress that showed more legs than her grandmother would approve of. Princess Beatrice, 20, wore the more modest dress with a heart-shaped neckline and capped sleeves. Cavalli, an old friend of the Duchess, had shocked the world last year when he said Beatrice was his inspiration and that he was going to make a few clothes keeping her in mind.

The new Autumn/Winter 2009 collection Cavalli unveiled drew inspiration from Mad max, punk music and Blade Runner and if there was anything inspired by Beatrice, it was not revealed. Explaining why he has not gone flamboyant as he usually does with colors in his show, Cavalli said, “You need to attack in order to win. I have declared war on the (financial) crisis.” Black was the dominating color at the show but Elizabeth Hurley appeared to snub the trend when she walked in wearing a white dress and £460 gold Jimmy Choo heels that were presented to double gold medalist Rebecca Adlington by the mayor of Mansfield. Liz and her husband Arun Nayar were seen earlier that evening at the front row of Cavalli’s show.

The party was to celebrate the launch of the Cavalli credit card which the designer described as “a luxury lifestyle and finance card for fashion aficionados with high disposable income.”
