Sarah Beth James Is Miss Mississippi 2010

ath1Mississippi, July 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Miss Mississippi has a new face. She is Sarah Beth James. The announcement came on Saturday night in the midst of more than 2000 people who gad gathered to watch the event being held at the Vicksburg Convention Center. Sarah Beth James, who was declared the winner after surpassing the preliminary rounds of competitions, is a resident of Madison.

Sarah Beth James will proceed to Las Vegas from Mississippi where she is supposed to represent her state in the Miss America pageant to be held in the month of January next year. According to reports, the girl from Madison is now the owner of $10,000 which was awarded to her as scholarship money by the Miss Mississippi Corporation. In the finale of the Miss Mississippi pageant, where the contestants were supposed to enact on the theme of “Two Kings and a Queen”, Sarah Beth James presented a classical piano piece in the talent round.

The event was hosted by Taryn Foshee, who was the owner of the Miss Mississippi crown back in the year 2006. Along with Sarah Beth James, the other winners of the pageant were Jill Duckworth, who secured the second place in the competition and Kristen Benigno, the second runner up. Like the other winners Sarah Beth James is still pursuing her studies. According to reports, she is a student of communication in the Mississippi State University. The girl from Madison has in the past won the title of Miss Metro Jackson and is now Miss Mississippi, the title previously held by Anna Tadlock.
