Sara Gilbert Show To Replace “As The World Turns”

sara-gilbertJuly 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sara Gilbert is all set to host the latest CBS offering that will replace the soap opera ‘As the World Turns’. She will be the host of a daytime talk show that will also feature a panel of celebrity mothers that includes Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini among others. The show will focus on the contemporary issues that are making the headlines and also the domestic challenges through the eyes of the mothers.

Barbara Bloom, the Senior Vice President of Daytime, CBS said that they are looking at a new format that would not only speak to the core audience but also have a much wider and current appeal. She added that the co-hosts will not just be a bashful bunch, they will be outspoken about all the topics put on the table and also bring in their incredible personalities. Sara Gilbert is also the executive producer of the show and has helped develop the one hour daily. The ‘Roseanne’ star is expected to come on air in October. It is an important slot in for the network because ‘As The World Turns’ will be replaced after running for 54 years.

Sara Gilbert became a household name after she became a regular cast member of the sitcom ‘Roseanne’ during its run from 1988 to 1997. She has also appeared in small cameos for movies and other sitcoms over the years. The actress regained her popularity post ‘Roseanne’ after she landed a full time role in the medical drama ‘ER’. She also directed a short film in 1998.
