sandra1Mar 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The race to Oscar 2010 was watched by the movie buffs with great enthusiasm. While the fight for the best picture was between the James Cameron Magnum Opus ‘Avatar’ and ‘The Hurt Locker’, few expected Sandra Bullock to take home the best actress award. However, the pretty actress achieved the feat and after her win at Critics Choice and the coveted Golden Globe awards in January, the Hollywood insiders kept their fingers crossed. There was Meryl Streep who holds the record for being nominated for the academy awards for the maximum times. However, the win at Oscar has put Sandra Bullock in the A-league of Hollywood actresses hitherto dominated by the likes of Angelina Jones, Catherine Zeta Zones and Reese Witherspoon.

The Oscar 2010 proved to be lucky for the underdogs and the win of Sandra Bullock corroborates the fact. She started the year 2009 well with a flick named ‘The Proposal’ which did good business and earned her praises of the viewers and critics alike. However, she got a lot of flak for acting in ‘All About Steve’. It is being considered as the worst movie she has ever done. Sandra Bullock managed to bounce back with ‘The Blind Side’ which put her in the race for the Academy Awards. The film did roaring business at the box office and won rave reviews from the critics. However, the skeptics were still dubious about her chance at 2010 Oscars.

The Oscar Acceptance speech of Sandra Bullock was appreciated and funnily enough she made reference to the famous lip lock between her and ace actress Meryl Streep in it. Now, she has got the task of carrying forward the expectation of her fans.
