Samuel L. Jackson ‘heads to Broadway to play Martin Luther King Jr’
May 27th, 2010 - 5:15 pm ICT by ANINew York, May 27 (ANI): Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson may head for Broadway in a play about Martin Luther King Jr. called ‘The Mountaintop’, written by Katori Hall.
The play is set in King’s Memphis motel room the day before he was assassinated. It arranges an imaginary exchange between King and a maid, reports The New York Post.
Jackson has been offered a whopping 50k dollars a week.
Jackson also has a personal connection with the play. He was an usher at King’s funeral in Atlanta. (ANI)
