Samuel KochDec 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Student and stunt jumper Samuel Koch was severely injured after stunt went wrong during a popular German TV show. Though the reports on his present state is sparse, some indicate that the 23 year old might have badly injured his spine and might even be paralyzed. The show was being aired live on TV at the time of the accident. The rest of the show was canceled after the tragic accident. The host announced that they felt responsible to not continue with the show when they were not in a state of mind to.

Samuel Koch performed on the show with the help of kangaroo stilts that allowed him to jump over cars moving towards him. During the performance where he had the accident, Samuel Koch had already jumped over a few cars before banging on to the 4th car. To add to the tragedy, the car was being driven by his own father. Reports indicate that something might have irked Samuel Koch during the performance as he was seen slightly distraught after the first jump.

The horrific accident of Samuel Koch has also sparked a debate about the degree of safety on such shows. Some felt that the degree of danger that the stunts possessed was increasing day by day because the network was competing with another rival who aired a similar show. In the show where he was injured, ‘Wetten, dass…?’, the host had announced before the performance that he felt very scared for Samuel Koch as he performed his stunts and he hoped that everything went well. Pop star Justin Bieber and boy band Take That were also scheduled to perform on the show. Both the performances were canceled.
