Samuel Jackson to make his Broadway debut as Martin Luther King Jr.

Christie Brinkley London, Apr 17 (ANI): Actor Samuel L.Jackson will make his Broadway debut as Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. in “The Mountaintop”, a play that recounts the night before the civil rights leader’s assassination in 1968.

The 62-year-old actor will star in the production of the Broadway edition of the Olivier-winning play when it moves from London to New York, reports the Daily Mail.

However, Halle Berry, who was due to play the role of Camae, the hotel maid, has pulled out, quoting “child custody issues”.

The curtain will go up on the first performance on September 22 with an official opening on October 13. Tickets will go on sale at a later date.

Jackson joins a list of Hollywood stars who making their live stage debut, including Christie Brinkley, Chris Rock, Robin Wright, Ben Stiller, and Kiefer Sutherland. (ANI)
