Apr 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Those who have been waiting with bated breath for the arrival of 3D TVs better do a rethink. Even before its latest 3D LED TVs get released in the UK and other countries, Samsung electronics has issued warning for the potential buyers and viewers of 3D TVs. The leading manufacturers like LG, Sharp and Panasonic are all set to release their models of HDTV in the market shortly. The hype about 3D was started ever since James Cameron released his 3D magnum opus Avatar in the last year. 3D TV is being touted as the television technology of the future but Samsung’s caution has made people jittery about the safety of the 3D TVs.
As per the warning, the people who would view 3D content on the 3D LED TVs should practice caution. Children and elderly person are more susceptible to suffer from certain side effects as Samsung says ands they should be kept under supervision while viewing such content. Pregnant women and those people who do not get sufficient sleep have also been warned from watching 3DTV for long duration. The possible side effects involve nausea, convulsion etc.
Samsung has posted the warning on its site so that the interested buyers get the message. However, the 3D TVs can also display general content and they look great on these TVs. Other manufacturers have not published any such warnings till date. Some industry experts are of the opinion that by issuing the warning, Samsung is safeguarding itself from any possibilities of legal implications later. It remains to be seen if it affects the 3D HDTV sales.
