Sam Raimi to direct the ‘Wizard of Oz’ prequel

According to the reports Disney’s most treasured film on the wizard of Oz project will be directed By Sam Raimi. The rep from Disney said that Raimi would direct Oz 3D prequel very soon.
He added that Oz would be the great and powerful movie. The prequel of The Wizard of Oz is claimed to be the Disney’s biggest ever project. Disney is hoping that there new prequel will be bigger hit at box office when compared to Alice In Wonderland, which was Disney’s one of the most ambitious projects.
Reports say that the Disney studio is imperative about the new venture and moving ahead with OZ. The movie will focus on Wizard’s life, what happens when he finds himself turning into wizard for the first time in the land of Oz, and how he became wizard.
Disney rep said that Robert Downey Jr would play the lead role of The Wizard. However, Disney has not signed the actor yet. Though, the actor claims that he has read the script of the Oz. However the final deal between the two of them is yet to be worked out. Sources also suggest that in case Robert does not give suitable dates then Disney is ready to cast another actor.
