Nov 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Recently Sam Elliott starred in a heart melting television film, “November Christmas”. The movie was premiered on Sunday from 9:00 p.m till 11:00 p.m, to mark the advent of the Christmas season. However, the movie is not about the fun and frolic that comes with the festival. It rather deals with the basic message and the values that the festival aims to propagate, which in one word can be called “Kindness”.

In this movie, Sam Elliott plays the role of Jess, who happens to be an old-salt local farmer. Jess is a kind man, who helps John Corbett, in arranging a Christmas party for his eight year old daughter Vanessa, who is suffering from cancer and might not be alive till December. Sam Elliott and John Corbett are the two main protagonists, who mobilize the entire community in the island to be a part of the special November Christmas and help the child enjoy her last Christmas in advance. In the process of arranging the Christmas party, Jess finds his estranged brother, who first comes to their help. Later on, with a domino effect, the entire community joins them or the noble cause. This may be regarded as yet another sensible movie of Sam Elliott, where the message of warmth and kindness is propagated through a well crafted script and story line.

Sam Elliott’s resonant voice played a huge role in sketching the character of old jess. It seemed that it was his voice that brought out the essence of the character than the acting. The 66 year old ace actor started his career in 1963 with the film “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”. Since then he has done twenty three television movies before “November Christmas”. This is his second movie of the year after “Marmaduke”, where he only lent his voice.
